My manager role involves managing a shift including people positioning, adhering to time regulations with breaks and clock off time, cashing up tills, counting the safe. Meeting and setting goals and tasks in regards to drive thru times and kvs times. Set smart targets and to keep staff morale high.
My skills are developed on a daily basis due to working along side my business manager. I was taught how to enter extra items on delivery only yesterday. Being a manager is all about developing whilst on shift and learning through asking for advice and searching for answers I don't know.
I really enjoyed the programme as it was not the basic manager course I took. I also passed my English and maths exams and although you have a dead line it's quite flexible on how to learn things and the information needed is always readily available on the website given at the beginning of the course
Very well organised you have modules that need to be completed by a certain time and once they are finished you start moving on to the next one. The lady for my apprenticeship was so helpful and would always keep me up to date with what is expected from me and which day she would be doing an exam well in advance
To begin with I didn't really have any support but when I proved I really wanted to do it they supported me fully. I was given time on and off floor to learn and was always at the end of the phone if I had a question. They were really happy when I passed
Wendy is excellent! I can not fault her in any way at all she doesn't judge and is so understanding. I explained at the beginning that I was 32 and haven't been to school in a very long time and she showed me where to find training programmes to do at home regarding my English and maths. If I ever had a problem she would help me 100%
If it wasn't for the qualification and completing the course I would still be a crew trainer and not moved up the promotion ladder. I understand equality, health and safety and even use these outside of work. I learnt customer profiling which helps with my everyday role and also helps make me a better person
McDonald's have many extra activities. 5 a side football, love where you live and litter picking this is giving back to the community and making sure the area we live and work in are clean. Annual mud runs take place for rmhc. Our store do our own charity events too
Yes
I have 5 children and have worked for McDonald's for 6 years. The flexibility is amazing. It's like one big family and you know there's always someone to talk to if needed. I have never felt so comfortable in a company because it's such a big successful business
Go for it but don't think that it's easy because it's not. You have days where you are spending alot of time cleaning but says where you are on your feet for a long time and being so busy. Everyday is different but it's a good experience and ticks off most things needed on your c.v if also at college studying
