My daily job role includes interacting with the public, helping them to book their dream holiday, any questions they may have and helping with tickets preparing our customers to depart for their holiday. I also complete admin throughout the day, organising brochures and communicating with different suppliers.
I have become more confident within myself to put myself more out there, such as applying to go on trips, covering at different shops and meeting new people. I am more organised and have got a expanded knowledge in this industry.
I do enjoy my apprenticeship a lot, despite having to do the travel advisor job itself as well as the modules and the tasks/ assignments I do manage my time very well to ensure that I get everything uploaded on time.
It is organised, we have just got a new system for our work and the layout of this is much preferred to the last. I would prefer to meet up on the apprenticeship training days so us apprentices can interact with eachother rather than Skype as it can be temperamental.
I receive endless amount of help from everyone I work with including my manager and colleagues in my store and my apprenticeship coach.
I receive as much help as I need and I can always contact my coach and Sandie will always help me and guide me through the questions ensuring I fully understand this.
What I learn on my tasks does help on a day to day basis - although it is time consuming it is only best for us to get this education to ensure we are the best at what we do.
There are ship visits that I apply to attend, educational trips to different countries, our speed dating events with different suppliers to get the knowledge from each supplier we deal with. This is all a brilliant way to learn new things about the company.
Yes
Because they put your best interests at heart and the colleagues I work with always ensure that I am comfortable with everything and always helping me throughout my journey as an apprenticeship.
Don't come into the job thinking you don't know everything at first - it takes time. My colleagues who have been here 20+ years still don't know everything. Take each day as it comes, and ensure your time management is up to scratch.
