After the first 6 Months residential training In Westwood. I went to my assigned depot and now I work in a Faulting and Maintenance Team and do placements around the company
The training is excellent! I have learned so many new skills that are railway specific while developing existing skills.
I've really enjoyed my time on the program so far and made some good friends!!
It's well structured but sometimes with the return to training and NVQ reports it can seem unorganised
Support from the apprenticeship team is just an email away with my team and Line manager being next to me at work to ask for support.
A guidance book is given but it can be quite vague and open to interpretation,
My qualification has trained me in all of the health and safety and communication aspects of the job role
There are Christmas Do's to get involved in and many railway networking events
Yes
It's a great company to work for and is a career for life
Be yourself during the application process and when they ask if you are able to work in all weathers they mean it!
