I'm a signal engineer technician apprentice, What I do on a day-to-day basis various greatly at the moment as I am still in the early stages of my apprenticeship. However, it is usually education on electronics, engineering and mathematics.
yes I have definitely learnt new skills that can be applied to my profession but also to my life. For example, I have a good grasp on electrical engineering which is helpful when an electrical appliance stops working round the house.
I quite enjoy my programme because usually it is both interesting and challenging. Although, there are some courses that I find slightly unnecessary but I do understand why we have to complete them.
I think my programme is very organised and well structured. My only criticism would be that I think we spend a bit too much time at Westwood.
I receive sufficient support from my employer.
I also am supplied with sufficient support when training towards my qualifications.
Although I have not received any qualifications yet as I am still in the early stages of my apprenticeship I am working towards them and this has definitely helped me perform better in my role as it has expanded my knowledge.
Yes there are lots of extra-curricular activities to do after work. No teams as such but a good variety of social activities to take part in after work.
Yes
Its a great alternative to university and it offers good future prospects with the opportunity to climb the ranks if you work hard enough.
If you are unsuccessful the first time of trying, try again as it is well worth it.
