Completing tasks to do with building services engineer, using: Amtech, AutoCAD, DIALux, Microstation. Working on major rail projects
Social skills, computer skills, technical knowledge gained. Understanding of how projects operate and what is involved with them. How to design building services systems.
I believe the programme is for the most part very well set out, although the IEng that goes along with my apprenticeship still hasn't been sorted. The content is good and applicable to the type of things I do on a day to day basis.
Very well organised for the most part, there are a few hiccups here and there. An example being the OneFile, still not sure if it's to be used or not and no real solid guidance on why or how its meant to be used.
I recieve all the support I could possibly ask for.
Very supportive and happy to help outside of uni hours. Can go for help whenever its needed, I've not had to use the extra support but I've heard it's in place
80% of what I do at uni I can see helping me in my day to day working life, better understanding the things I am working on.
There are, social, sports and professional events that WSP host. They even have a scheme in place for those with under 10years of experience in the industry to network.
Yes
They are a great place to work with a great ethic and the people are really nice. They give you a solid workload without feeling like you're under too much pressure. But they also understand that you have uni commitments to fulfil and will help with that.
Just be yourself in the interview, really sell your own story. Dont be another candidate just spilling facts about the company (obviously it helps to know the facts, but dont regurgitate them like a robot). Really show why you stand out from the crowd.
