I work as a travel consultant, I work with customers daily and help them with whatever I can. I sell holidays, offer advice and help customers with difficult decisions. I answer questions from customers about holidays, climates, currencies, board basis and inquiries. Customers trust me and my advice. I take payments daily both cash and card.
I have learnt many new skills such as how to load holidays from scratch, how to do different bookings on different systems via different booking portals. I have learnt how to payments over the phone and in person. I have learnt to walk customers to the door and say welcome to tui when I greet them.
I enjoy my program very much, I enjoy the workload, my various teams that I willingly work with extremely effectively. I also enjoy tui as a company and enjoy how they've welcomed me into the company with welcoming arms. It exceeded my expectations and is a better experience than I thought it was going to be.
It is organised quite well at times but then awful at other times like with my coursework systems, they keep changed and not to benefit me but to benefit my assessor. I get a lot of support from Sandie and I get study time but not as much as I should be getting.
I receive a lot of support from everyone on my teams, i have never spoken to hr though, my mentor helps me occasionally but couldn't care less anymore to be brutally honest they have kind of given up s I am in hope of moving to a new store.
I receive no support from the training provider or my mentor but I receive a lot from Sandie. It is easy for me to get support from my coach either via the phone or an email. She replies quickly and helps me whenever she can. She is always extremely helpful
I feel that my qualification really helps me with my job as, as I learn, I use that knowledge with customers. It helps me perform better in my role as it teaches me as I work. It provides me with information that is not easy to find out and is extremely helpful.
I do overtime as an extra curricular activity, I do overtime for multiple reasons, such as learning new skills, taking part in new activities, getting to know a larger customer basis and using other systems. In my free time I do coursework, overtime and see my family and friends I don't really take part in extra curricular activities.
Yes
They are very good at what they do and are a lovely company to work for, I have booked a holiday with them, for myself and my dad to go to Greece as I want to experience their holiday making skills personally and have my own personal preferences about the company.
I would tell them to do it, enjoy it, take their time, ask questions, feel comfortable in themselves, feel confident in their abilities and to throw themselves into their work as they themselves will benefit from it in the long run. I would also advise them to work in a superstore as it is way more rewarding and beneficial than the smaller highstreet shops.
