Role consists of dealing with Contract communications, dealing with Sub-Contractors, completing valuations and managing change. Procurement of Subcontract packages consisting of compilation of scopes and pricing documents.
I have learnt both new skills and developed existing. I have learnt a lot of new technical knowledge and have developed soft skills such as confidence and speaking in groups.
I enjoy my programme a lot.
The programme is very well structured. Mace has internal training to help us develop technical knowledge and soft skills, I like this because it means our learning doesn't just take place at university and we meet other people from the business.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. We have six monthly check ins to ensure that we are doing ok and we have a portfolio that we complete and review to ensure we are getting required experience.
Our training provider South Bank doesn't provide much support outside of lectures - as far as I am aware anyway.
The qualification is definitely helpful. Years 1 and 2 consisted of Construction technology and structures - this was very important as the majority of us had come straight from school and didn't have any construction knowledge.
Mace is a very social company to work for. We have regular work place socials and networking events.
