I perform electrical and electronic tests on batteries and cells to a variety of test specifications, i.e. Defence Standard, UN Transport.
Yes. I have learnt basic lab skills such as soldering, taking measurements and managing data. I have also learnt more complex skills such as programming in C++ and the running of battery test equipment.
I find the work I do day to day, as well as the sector I work in, to be very interesting. I enjoy university most when I am learning new things; since I have done the HNC already, I anticipate finding the course much more interesting in year 2.
The university course is progressing well, however I have yet to receive an apprentice review session slot.
As much as I need, my immediate line management, my colleagues and QinetiQ as a whole are very supportive of my Degree Apprenticeship.
I am aware of the existence of catch-up programmes, however many of these are tailored towards full time students.
I feel as if my report writing skills will be greatly improved by my attendance at university.

Flexible approach to working and interesting projects, with lots of mobility between company departments.
My experience is that you get out of QinetiQ what you put in. Working hard and performing well are met with praise, and plenty of opportunity for flexible/homeworking. Do not be afraid to ask for more; people are supportive and the worst case scenario is a 'no'.
