My job role is to serve customers and provide excellent customer service and provide the holiday planning service, this includes; car parking, hotels, transfers, airport lounges, fast track for the airport. On a day to day basis I take payments, add excursions, sell holidays, sell insurance, sell extras and serve customers in the bureau. I also have to do my apprenticeship work on the side which helps with day to day tasks as I learn a lot through this that I may not have already learnt yet.
I have learnt new skills such as; trading in the bureau, selling AXA insurance, computer skills( a lot more confident on them now), learning the Hybris system and more confident in talking to customers.
I do really enjoy my program as sometimes I can learn things that others may not know, this helps me as sometimes I wouldn't learn it until I have to do it, so when I do have to then I already know. For example; Western Union training- I did the training and then had to serve and I already knew how to do it. I think it helps as I learn a lot more than maybe I would on a day to day serving day in the shop.
I think it is very organised as it sets time limits on each My Journey (for example- to be completed by March) that you have to do and the work is set out in a professional way so it is easy to navigate and find what work needs doing. I have regular calls and visits from my assessor Carol which is good as it helps me keep up to date and if I need help she will assist me.
I receive a lot of support from TUI and from my colleagues, if I ever need help or time off the shop floor to complete work then they will help/let me. I also receive support from the apprenticeship leaders in our Region who will call and check up on me or see if I need any help.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider towards my qualifications and this is good as it helps me work through my apprenticeship without any problems. If I ever need any help then I know I have the support.
I think my qualification and training has helped through my job role as I am learning a lot more than I would if I was working in the shop without the apprenticeship. This is good for me as it helps me do my job role confidentially.
We do charity events at work for our TUI charity which we all take part in and help raise money for The TUI Care Foundation. These include; Christmas Hampers, Easter Hampers, bake sale, raffle tickets.
Yes
I think TUI is a good company to work for and I would recommend to a friend or family.
I would say to apply for an apprenticeship as it helps a lot more in your job role. I have learnt so much.
