  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Meeting with whole team in the morning then a meeting with manager to plan tasks for the day. Next I complete the tasks given which could be a slide presentation, research, reporting etc. Then I send it to my manager to review and have a meeting to discuss improvements I can make for a redraft.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Qualifications: level 6 degree in digital and tech solutions from the open university and an apprenticeship qualification Internal training courses: coding basics, empathy for different users of a product or service External training courses: available for certain areas if you ask but unlikely till you reach a more senior role

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Work: I usually work standard 9-5 hours and I'm relatively busy throughout the day which is good. Some days there isn't a lot to do which can be annoying but in those moments I do more research in industries/ methodologies for work that I'm interested in. Company culture: overall good but I don't think there are enough diversity networks that cater to the nuance of peoples experiences Does it meet my expectations?: yes because I worked in a similar environment prior to joining but without that I would've been slightly thrown off as it is a big step up from sixth form

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • induction: intense 9 weeks process which is mixed with grads for 3 weeks and the remaining 6 weeks at uni training: I don't have any mandatory training for my area in particular but other apprentices have to support: there are varies people to reach out to for support and regular catch ups scheduled with them.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • manager: hr team: not clear who they are mentor: there are coaches assingned to you to fulfil this function but you can switch them if you find someone for suitable for you through networking accessibility of support: there are a range of people (of different seniority) to reach out to so you can lean of them for different issues as you see fit general attitude towards supporting you: seems like something they have to do rather than want to do as its not their day job

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • A good amount of help but the quality of the lecturers are sub par to university lecturers.

  • I think most of the valuable things I have learnt have come from actually doing the job day to day.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There aren't frequent apprentice socials. They happen once or twice a year. there are social with grads/ business areas but the environment is very corporate- which is okay just not as enjoyable as uni socials would be.

  • Yes

  • Good pay and they'll be working with me :)


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte?
  • Think about relevant work experience you may have that could come from little things in school such as leading an assembly/ club.
