  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme greatly. I find the work rewarding, providing solutions to our clients that they wouldn't otherwise be able to enforce. I have worked in great teams and the company culture prioritises diversity, inclusion and a work-life balance. I have met friends for life in the other apprentices.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • When joining Deloitte we had a long induction period where we spent 3 weeks with all the other new joiners learning key skills. This also involved many social events. As an apprentice, I also spend 20% of my time studying and this is well understood and supported by my managers. There is an extensive support system in place to ensure we succeed and are supported at all stages of the programme.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There is a wide support network in Deloitte. Before you join, you receive a buddy who is a good person to go to with any questions. You also have a dean who oversees your apprentice development. On my first project, in addition to a supportive manager I was assigned a project buddy who I could go to for advice on any topic.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive good support from my training provider. The modules are taught by experts in the field. Overall I am not keen on the 'learning' aspect of my apprenticeship but Ada are a good provider and maintain good communication with Deloitte themselves so everybody is on the same page.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • In some ways my qualification has helped in my role - learning programming and data structures has helped me understand systems at work. Overall, my degree programme is not completely relevant to my role but the content is still useful to know and I think makes me a more well rounded employee.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Deloitte has many extra curricular activities. Whatever your interest, there will be some way to get involved, whether this is a sport, faith group etc. There is a subsidised gym on site and in addition everybody gets half a day a month which they can use volunteering for one of our charity partners.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Deloitte to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I have and will continue to recommend Deloitte to friends, both at an apprenticeship and graduate level. I (& my family) didn't know at first whether it was a good decision not to go to university but 18 months into my scheme I know it was the best choice for me - I now have industry experience, no debt and no stress about having to find a graduate job.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte?
  • Deloitte has a good application process and you should be well supported. My main tip is to be yourself and don't try to be someone you're not. I would have liked to have been told that at age 17 nobody expected me to have loads of experience so not to stress myself out about it!
