I am currently in a sales role in a team who look after the 5th largest UK grocery customer. I am customer facing so a lot of my role is building relationships with the customer.
On the programme I will gain a BA Hons in Professional Business Practice with Sheffield Hallam. There are also fantastic training opportunities on the job such as presentation and negotiation workshops.
The scheme has brought me life long friends and the company has adpated extremely well to young people coming into the business.
The nature of the programme is that you are given a live role from day 1 and this helps you learn quickly in a fast paced environment. My hard work on the programme and by being an ambassador externally Nestle put me forward for an award that was recognised and the Food and Drink Industry award ceremony.
The induction, training and support on the programme is fantastic. When starting the programme you are given a buddy, mentor and line manager.
There is constant accessibility to gain the training you want.
The whole business is really bought into the Fast Start programme and that flows down for the CEO right down to your line manager.
The salary is excellent for a school leaver and Nestle also pay all your university and tuition fees.
There are a lot of social events at Nestle and we are inducted with the graduates which really kick starts the social scene.
