I have varying responsibility in my day-to-day role - everyday is different. I assist my team with the general maintenance and run-down focus of our transactions. I do this by completing annual credit papers for each facility, liaising with clients, monitoring the transactions will well-kept spread sheets, making old processes more efficient and helping to enforce new regulations. As well as this, I take the lead on extra-curricular projects for the wider group by leading Lunch & Learns on agile working and running focus groups to improve colleague satisfaction within the team.
I have improved my analytical skills through writing several credit papers to a high quality - all of which have been sanctioned. I have also felt that my confidence has increased massively, due to the increased level of public speaking and responsibility I have taken on, which has been a huge transition from leaving school!
I am absolutely loving my experience so far. I am well supported by my line manager and team to undertake what is necessary for my apprenticeship (e.g. 20% of time allocated off the job), and they push me to achieve my potential. I am given a good level of responsibility within the team, and as a result I feel a valued member. My benefits are great as an apprentice (both experience & monetary-wise). I could not recommend it enough.
Lloyds as a company have organised and structured my programme very well. I am kept informed and am able to query everything and anything with my programme leader. However, Kaplan, the external training company, have been less organised, meaning especially at the start I felt confused as to what was expected from me. Lloyds continue to do everything they can to rectify this and keep in contact with Kaplan on a regular basis.
I have never felt so supported within an organisation. I am very close with both my line manager and team - and I know that if I had an issue inside or outside of work I could discuss it with any of them. They are also supportive of my 20% off of the job for study - which has improved my apprenticeship experience hugely.
Kaplan have not been very helpful, especially towards the start of my course. The course they offer and the structure of it has been very confusing at times. Mistakes have been made along the way and we have been misinformed with information regarding our qualification along the way. That being said, 3 months in, I was given a talent coach who has improved the quality of their service and I feel more content now.
I am only 5 months into my role and being part of the bank, however so far it has been useful. I have recently passed my PBC qualification. Although it is not very relevant to my role specifically, it has given me a better knowledge of the bank and its functions as a whole - which is undoubtedly beneficial overall.
I have the opportunity to take part in lots of extra-curricular activities in my role. For example, me and my team socialise outside of work, our entire division has offsite networking events, and we also have the opportunity to take part in charitable events, such as give & gain days where we help someone/somewhere outside of the bank.

Lloyds bank has given me endless opportunities for personal development since joining. They have supported me, pushed me and taught me new skills I can take with me for the rest of my career - no matter where I end up. It's a great organisation to join as a school leaver.
Throughout your application process - just be yourself. Try to express your best attributes, whether they are bank-related or not. Above all, Lloyds will recognise your enthusiasm for the role that you are applying for and whether you will fit in well with the team, wider team and the Group's culture.
