I work in the Transition planning team and assess 16-25 with additional needs under the Care Act. I have a caseload of 16 cases and assist them with care, accommodation, education and safeguarding. Once or twice a week I attend university for my degree in social work
I have been challenged and furthered myself in deepening my knowledge of social work and developing my skills. I’m now more confident in group work, presentations and debates
I enjoy sharing the experience with other apprentices and the support the offer. I’m enjoying achieving my ambition to be a social worker
It’s on a fixed day each week. The organisation is via an app where all my modules are timetabled and supportive information is held. I feel it’s well structured with a broad range of relevant topics
My employer gives one day extra leave per assignment for a study day. Within my supervision my academic progress is discussed. There is regular contact from our lead social worker. My caseload is also limited. I feel supported by senior members of the team
I feel the support is available from tutors and also extra study skills classes have been facilitated
It’s invaluable in achieving an accredited qualification
There are a number of social and wellbeing events
