  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well organised, it started with participating in CIMA foundation and JMC qualification which helps go through the transition of school to work. I also received a lot of support in that education and the steps I wanted to participate in following the completion of that education.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I received study days off work in order to revise for my exams. I was also able to discuss working flexibly with my project managers so I was able to spend some of my working days studying or writing essays for my JMC.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that my JMC qualification made me more aware of what I have been learning and the reflection has made me better at my job as I am more aware of what I should be doing. The CIMA qualification, I did not find particularly relevant to me however I do know that a lot of my peers found it very suited to them and their careers.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many different extra-curricular activities to get involved in, covering all sports and other activities. There are many other communities as well, such as women in technology. The apprentice scheme facilitates many extra curricular events in order to build a sense of community. During induction to the firm, we attended a extra-curricular fair where all extra activities were advertised and all could be signed up for then.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Deloitte to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Deloitte is fuilled with considerate, diverse, positive and friendly people who would all step in to help at any minute. There is always a friendly face and help is never very far away. There is massive respect for the BrightStart programme within the whole of the firm, all the way to the most senior people who see the apprentices as a breath of fresh air, creativity and innovation which is an amazing place to work. There is a feel that you can achieve whatever you would like to, and if you ask there is always someone who would help get you there.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte?
  • When I applied to the apprenticeship scheme I tried to be honest about myself and what I have done. There is an understanding that you come straight from school so the highlight is more about you as a person rather than academic achievements. Being able to lead a group, make your ideas heard, come up with an idea, even if it isn't a good one, I find the most improtant. It's about getting involved and being true to yourself. Deloitte has some of the best people in the business working for them, people who are hard working and innovative - that is what they want to see.
