My role includes developing a complete IT solution for our customers, this could either be in the form of bug fixes or developing new features. I also have taken part in meetings that determine the future of the company and has more value to the business compared to just a bug fix. This includes marketing days and approach to be decided meetings and sprint planning, reviewing and retrospective.
Throughout my time here I have learnt and developed a wide range of skills that aren't just limited to coding and technical areas. I have also learnt some business and project management by shadowing and also taking part in meetings. I have also started writing blog posts and gotten better at writing. I have also been able to learn a lot about different programming languages and techniques and how various technologies work.
This programme has been extremely enjoyable and I've been able to learn a lot more than I would have compared to a normal degree. I have also met some great people who helped me grow as a person. I have enjoyed this experience because it has allowed me to grow as a person.
I the university side of things is quite structured however it doesn't seem to be more beneficial compared to the non-structured environment at work. At work, i have been able to learn a lot more since the people around me have more knowledge about what they are talking about compared to that of a university.
I constantly receive a lot of support from my employer whether its to do with university work or actual work or even to do with my own life. I have also been able to pursue interests of my own thanks to the personal development review process which has allowed me to improve myself further.
I receive as much support as I need from my employer or from co-workers, I also receive a vast amount of incredibly useful support from tutors and teachers. They always seem very happy to support me and my peers and i have never felt neglected and that is why I enjoy it.
I don't feel it helps me a lot but rather its the other way round since I usually feel that I have already done the work and learned how to do it from work rather than from university. This usually applies to more technical subjects rather than the business ones
Yes, there is like going to tech events or going to team building exercises however I usually do not go to anything other than that even though they may be available.
Yes
