The Fast Start Programme at Nestle allows you to move through the four key functions of business, sales, marketing, HR and supply chain, spending 6 months in each. I am currently in HR and support a business partner in the HR leadership of one of Nestle biggest companies.
Almost any skill you want to develop Nestle can support you with. As a Commercial Trainee, we have a structured development programme however, we have a wide range of addtional courses to attend. One of the key skills i have developed is confidence, the confidence to present toa large numbe rof people, run meetings, trust your instinct and believe in yourself but most of all develop as a person.
Hugly, every placement allows you to get a grasp for that function, but also the wider business from the perspective of that function. Coming off the scheme, you have a clear idea of your next steps for your career and can hit the ground running in a new role.
Nestle are not just paying me a salary but have invested in my future. It should always be 50:50 between the company and employee, and here especially, Nestle go above and beyond. The level of investment is uncomparable to any other scheme on the market today. We get all the usual rewards at Nestle, which again are well above market average.
It was well designed and well executed however, the processes can sometimes be slow. I would like to have a clearer outlook on future placements to start building networks. However, all in all, well structured and organised.
The training/ academic side is delivered by Sheffield Halam Uni. The course are effective and relevant to both our day jobs but also business in general.
Neslte offer many different levels of support. From you Line Manager, mentor, buddy right to form training programs. The support is there how and when you want it.
There is 6 role in York and 6 in Crawley, us based in Crawley are given an additional £1000 however, the cost of living in the south east compared to Yorkshire is far greater than £1000. Those in York are far better off even with the smaller salary.
Yes, due to the size of Nestle this will depend on the team, but yes there is always lots going on.
Yes
It is a fantastic company to work for at any stage in your career but especially at a young age. There are endless opportunities to grow and develop in a wide range of companies within the group and across the globe.
Draw on your experience, think about what you have done in your life so far and how it has effected you. Rather than stating example of experience think about the 'so what does this really mean' what have i learn that is relevant to a future employeer?
