Excel analysis on companies management accounts. Preparing the data to analysis in a due diligence nature. I answer and write emails to clients and just to other team members. In addition i help out with other areas of the team such as capital markets analysis and innovations for across the firm.
Yes I have greatly developed my excel skills. this is across the board with different areas of excel. Sum if formulas are one of the key things we use in my team, along with index matches. I have also developed my data output skills. Power bi is a new bit of software I am starting to develop and it will be very beneficial.
I enjoy the programme a lot. It is a matter of work hard and play hard. We have a great culture of development and the team is very knowledge sharing. We also have many socials during the year. There are so many graduates joining as well you are bound to make many friends
The programme is very well organised compared to many other grad schemes out there. I have worked at another internship and another grad scheme and neither compares to how structured the BDO one is. This is because they have many grads and everyone goes through the process so it is constantly evolving.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. They are constantly chcking in on me. I also have a back problem which I disclosed to them, and because of this they have providied me with a standing desk which is great. They are also supporting for well being and flexible with time
There is so much support form my employer for the ACA! they are constatnly booking me onto revisiion courses and college time. There is also great online lectures which they give you time off to watch and also they give me all the stationary you could ever need from the cupboard.
The qualification helps in a number of different ways for my day to day role within the corporate finance team. Firstly it helps with talking to cleints and understanding their data. It also helps with understanding audit procedures and learning how the audit happens so we can understand data requuirements
I have attended many different extra curricular activities with bdo. Firstly I went to a full day cycle to windsor and back which was great. I met many people from different teams and also got to network with managers. I have also been to private equity events for networking
Yes
Since joining BDO I have really enjoyed every bit of it. there are great people and great teams in it. my fave thing is the free coffee and support everyone gives. yes that is right we have a cafe serving free coffee which is great. There is also a good gym below
when I applied to bdo I took a lot of time to research every since value and core that they lsit on the website. Also think about situations for when you have demostrated qualities. Make sure to seem really enthusiastic and make sure you disucss and expand all the questions
