I go to clients and perform tests on the processes and controls in place in the public sector. I will assess the controls and provide recommendations for improvement. I also will complete benchmarking exercises and other reports for different audits. I both support current seniors and perform my own work.
I have learnt a variety of new skills including Audit Testing, Report Writing I have continued to develop the following skills: Time Keeping, Organisation, Note taking I have been gaining confidence in my own abilities and have recently started conducting meetings with clients on my own as part of my work
I am enjoying the programme greatly. I am enjoying going out and experiencing a variety of different clients and audits. I am enjoying the variety that my job brings and the flexibility it allows me. I am enjoying the people I work with and have met as part of my day to day work.
My programme has been very structured so far, I have had an induction, lots of different training which has been touched up again in the recent Team away day. The programme allows me sufficient time to study and has given me a great amount of support and tasks without providing too much
I have both a counselling manager and a buddy who I can go talk to if I have any issues. Support is also available through various different channels. the support is good and I have used it on a couple of occasions, Overall the team seems to be geared towards supporting not just me but everyone.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider, we have tutors who are available to be contacted, we have forums were we can ask further questions to tutors or other students. the attitude at the training provider seems to be geared toward helping us all succeed in our course.
I have put some of what I have learnt from my training provider into effect, not all as I do not deal with tax on a regular basis. I am learning great things from my provider and am looking for opportunities to use it. I know more about the industry now
there are regular team away day, and social event for both the team and office. There are sports competitions and such in the office. We have a christmas lunch for both the team and the office and my team is planning social days which all are invited to, which is great
Yes
It is a great place to work form my experience. the people at BDO have welcomed me in and have made my programme very enjoyable as well as provided support for me. the work life balance is good, but if you don't like travelling it might not be for you
I would say to just be yourself, they are a great bunch of people and will know if you're not being true to yourself. Also do your research before your assessment centre, don't go in and wing it they are impressed with what you know and how you use it
