I help run a contact centre, looking after 8 managers and coaching and developing them to look after and develop their agents. I am also involved in projects that could impact the contact centre as well as a wider view of resource management, quality and effectiveness of the department, including succession planning.
It has taught me some new skills, especially in terms of refreshing skills I thought I already had. For example managing change, influencing people and also resource management. Having to take the time to investigate for assignments has also made me take a step back and understand more about my current role.
I have enjoyed it as it has made me think more about my role and what I actually do. I have to be honest, that writing assignments can be labour intensive, but actually once I have done the and re read them I do find it enjoyable. It has stretched me.
It is well organised, once I was registered. I have regular catch ups and know exactly what is required of me and when. I am able to reach out if necessary and there is support always available. The structure is easy to follow and the additional training available has been easy for me to attend.
I am lucky to have an employer who gives me time to complete my apprenticeship and also provide support during it, with good advise, will review my work and give direction should I need it. Has helped me stage engaged in the process and always checks in to see how I am doing.
I have a lot of support, regular check ins and good discussions that allow me to explain my current role and how to handle my assignments. She has been good at directing me and providing feedback to allow me to achieve. Always on hand should I need it and very good at asking the right questions to help me develop,
It has certainly made me look at things I do and change them, or adapt or take an overview of things that I probably needed a refresher on. I have also used some of this with my managers to help develop them. So it has had a good knock on effect.
we do have social activities as well as networking events. And they are huge events as we are a large department as well as working for a very big company. So conferences, manager team building events, various training courses that involve other departments as well as presentations and project meetings.
Yes
A very large company, that believes in developing its people and investing in that. So many different departments, with a wide range of opportunities, not only UK based but globally. The opportunities are wide ranging and they really do take care of every single person. If you work hard, you will go far.
