I work as a support officer to a team of Relationship managers providing administrative assistance to new and existing customers within their portfolios. I help to complete the administrative process before and after any customer lending applications. I work with internal departments to prepare the required lending applications before and after the lending decision helping to prepare facility letters, lending agreements and perfect security documents required. I also work with customers, solicitors, accountants and valuers to complete lending requirements
I have helped to developed my existing skills and also learnt some new skills. I have worked in the banking industry for 20 years and have enjoyed refreshing some of that knowledge. I have also got a better understanding of assessing accounts received and the various vehicles which are used for international trade.
I have really enjoyed the program on a personal level and started the program to challenge myself. The course did meet my expectations and is strongly supported within my organisation. There is currently a focus on individual within the organisation obtaining qualifications to support the internal learning we have undertaken.
The program was very well structured and very well organised although a lot of the learning needed to be self led. The support provided was excellent. The bank were very good at providing the required time to study and revise. All of the course work was clear easy to follow and relevant for the course
My employer was excellent in providing the level of support. My direct manager discussed the time required and went above and beyond to ensure that that I had enough time to complete course work and my study. There was some initial resistance as the courses were new to the organisation but that was quickly overcome.
The training provider have been very supportive. The person I had helping was very knowledgeable on the subject matter and took the time to get to know my learning style and clarify some of the more technical aspects of the course. Support was provided whenever required and they offered more than enough help.
The qualification has helped to build my confidence in the knowledge I had already gained through my work experience and internal learning which I had undertaken. The course also provided a greater understanding on some task that I undertake which will allow me to complete my role with a greater degree of accuracy
As I tend to work long hours there are not any extra curricular activities which are through work to get involved with. The bank however are very supportive of charity work and sporting activities I undertake outside of work and they provide support both financially and otherwise to help support these activities
Yes
I have worked for HSBC UK bank PLC for the past 22 years. The people I work with are the main reason I enjoy my role. The organisation is large and professional and we are supported in everything we do with training for any role we undertake and support to do our job.
Be open to what you are asked to do. I originally took a job as a cashier to get work over the summer. In my time with HSBC I have worked in lots of roles from management to support and having a willingness to learn and adapt to new roles has led to an interesting career
