An overview of my role is to work across EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) to support employees with the use of IT across L'Oréal. It is an Employee Experience role, in which role requirements are to communicate and raise awareness of digital solutions to support the business in achieving its targets. A fantastic role with great exposure!
I have developed many skills during my time at L'Oréal completing my Degree Apprenticeship, both personally and professionally. Some of the most effective professional skills I have learnt are: Project Management, Leadership, Communication, and Time Management. These skills have been developed by being fortunate enough to manage and work on projects in a professional for such a large organisation. You truly are given responsibility to manage your own workload and make a difference on a successful organisation.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the programme I was fortunate enough to experience. This is because it has been rewarding and eye opening to the real world of business. My team have been fantastic, working collaboratively and being supportive at every stage of the programme. Whenever I needed support, whether that be with work or my studies, my team would always give up their time to help. The company culture is the best I have ever worked in, truly digital and advanced, which supports employees work/life balance through agile working.
The Degree Apprenticeship programme at L'Oréal is structured very well. There are regular training sessions to help you develop skills for the business, as well as study support mandatory supplied by the organisation to allow you time to complete your degree studies. The induction covers everything you need, including set-up of professional devices to allow you to work from the office or home. Pearson connect with L'Oréal regularly and ensure employees are able to fulfil their potential.
All support I have received from L'Oréal as an employer is fantastic. I cannot fault L'Oréal for one thing in their support to me as a Degree Apprentice. My manager and HR together have enabled me to feel an important asset of the team, providing me with confidence to fulfil my role to the best of my ability. Upon finishing my Degree, my manager and HR have supported my future career opportunities, providing recommendations for roles and reaching out to discuss my next steps. Every day in my role I have felt appreciated, and I cannot thank the teams I have worked with enough in supporting my future career. There are many opportunities to continue in a very rewarding organisation.
Pearson provide amazing facilities and support to all students when working towards their qualifications. There are many tutors who put in countless hours to enable you to reach your full potential. Support lines are open all hours of the week, including weekends, and tutors want to do all they can to make a difference. There sure are a good number of tutors to students ratio, meaning nobody is left behind.
After completion of my Degree, the qualification I have achieved has noticeably made a difference in how I can perform better in my role. Before starting the programme, I had no previous business study experience. Since completion, I have been able to better understand my role and other business roles. This is through the learning developed throughout the programme from Pearson, and the studies of relative business theories which help businesses succeed.
There are countless amounts of extra-curricular activities in which you as an employee are eligible to take part in. Events such as helping the local community, days out to bond with your team, or professionally network with other divisions are all included at L'Oréal. These events are socially arranged by teams or departments and definitely make a difference to employee satisfaction.

I would certainly recommend L'Oréal to ANYONE. For the past 2 years, it has been a fantastic opportunity, and a wonderful organisation to work for. The organisation is very inclusive and diverse to all employees, provides fantastic opportunities to all employees, and the work culture is amazing. Employees are at the heart of L'Oréal, and their drive to continue to succeed in such a competitive market makes it an enjoyable organisation to be a part of. L'Oréal balance work / life fantastically, and employee satisfaction is truly looked after. You really do feel like an appreciated asset to the organisation.
I would suggest that anyone applying to L'Oréal should be prepared, and however cheesy it sounds, be yourself. L'Oréal is so diverse and inclusive that anyone can truly be who they want to be. The application and assessment days are in-depth, putting applicants through engaging but testing assessments. Make sure you are prepared, and try to stay confident. Everyone is there to try to help you, and they'll want what is best for you. It is a very competitive organisation, so never give up. Learn from every experience!
