I am a Project Control officer and currently work with the Project Management Office team. Daily tasks involve reporting, general admin and meeting facilitation. I interact with both internal colleagues and customer staff. I'm also a project co-ordinator for a project and this involves me managing changes and assisting the project manager with any tasks.
Since my time here, I have learnt many skills and also developed those I already had. Ideally, I would like to engage in more internal training courses in order to develop and progress further. I am working towards my NVQ qualification and so this has also helped me in developing and learning new skills.
I thorougly enjoy my programme as I have faced many challenges which I have been able to overcome and I have learned a lot through my experiences. However, there are parts of the scheme which i feel could be improved and therefore I do not feel that I am enjoying it as much as I could, solely because I feel that I should be beneffiting more. Having said this, these feelings often motivate me to improve the scheme and therefore I enjoy this challenge.
I generally feel valued by the organisation as I have received recognition and appreciation on several occassions. However, I sometimes feel apprentices are not alway given the same value relative to others in the company.
I have not felt very supported by my trainee. I was often confused and with so many changes in my assessor, I lost touch with my progress and attempted work with little support.
I feelvery supported by my employer and my manager is always open to listneing to my concerns and will offer me advise on how to progress.
The salary is good, however with travel costs and daily costs along with social costs, I sometimes do find it a struggle.
Yes
I have not regretted joining for a minute and therefore would recommend this to anyone.
Give it your best and never give up. Be yourself throught the application process and if you're chosen it's because you're a good match. If you dont, then it probably wasn't the job for you; by trying too hard you may end up finding yourself hating the job.
