My role as an apprentice is to try and work my hardest on every day on the apprenticeship and arrive punctual while ensuring that I meet the standards of EASA. my day includes getting the bus to work and currently we are in the workshops developing our hand skills to use when we go back to Heathrow
My skills have both developed massively aswell as I have learnt new skills. Primarily at the moment we are in the workshop any my hand skills are improving on a daily basis while learning new skills. My skills and knowledge also have developed in the classroom and with the essays and multiple choice question
I enjoy my programme massively, I do enjoy going to college and am looking forward to going back to Heathrow to work in the hangars. Aswell as going to college because of the new skills I learn and develop. It is also good because the people I work with are a great part of the programme
I believe my programme is well structured because nothing has fell through so far and I haven’t had any major issues that have effected me in terms of the course structure so therefore I believe that it is a well structured course. I also think it was well organised when they were sorting out our accommodation
Our employer often come down to our college to check on us and they also do house inspections to ensure that our welfare and cleanliness of the house is to a good standard. We also know that if we need anything we can email our employers and they will reply the same day
Our training provider is supportive while doing and working towards my modules. For example we are constantly being monitored and we have to fill out review sheets which track our standard and ensures we also feel like we have the right level of knowledge and feel supported by our instructors
I believe it does help our perform better for example to get the licence we have to complete modules and we are unable to get the licence without the training providers so therefore I believe it is a vital part to our apprenticeship which helps us perform better in my role
We have a football team that we play every Thursday after work. The football team is a 5 a side team so we also do work well as a team. I also think this helps bond the team together so that the friendships that occur on this apprenticeship are stronger. However I think I could do mroe
Yes
Because they are a very supportive company to work with and also that provide a great opportunity for the apprentices once you have got onto the course. I also think they offer some brilliant work experience for example before we came to the training providers we were in the hangars and I believe they were a brilliant experience
Be confident and ensure you always perform your hardest especially through the interviews. For the interviews, try and be a team leader in activities however also listen to what others say to ensure you include everyone. Also if you have any previous work experience or experience in general make sure you mention it as it looks really good.
