  • Aircraft maintenance Apprentice. Study for CAT A license modules and have a 2 year work placement at British Airways

  • Developed on my hand skills, knowledge of the industry and undesrtand how large airlines operate.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Very much enjoy it as an Aircraft Engineer is my dream job. There are many opportunities for learning which is what I enjoy the most

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very organised. Split into year 1,2 and 3. 1st year is focusing on CAT A license modules and 2nd/3rd year is a work placement to gain hand skills and carry out maintenance tasks

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support, regular welfare check ups, members of staff to help with NVQ and modules. I am able to approach members of staff and management if I need help

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Gaining qualifications is considered very important my British Airways so support is available to help us achieve this

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Whilst learning and studying for modules, there are practical phases such as workshop tasks and hangar tasks that help apprentices gain hand skills, used to the working environment and develop on work behaviours

  • I am not sure due to Covid

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I have just finished my first year at British Airways and I am enjoying my apprenticeship. It is a massive company to work for, staff are friendly and professional. There are many opportunities to develop yourself and I feel very supported and wanted at work


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
  • Do your research of the company, demonstrate what skills you have, how you achieved these skills and what these skills have helped you to do. Show your passion for British Airways and the area of operations you are applying for. Be yourself
