The programme offers 4 different rotations: customer journey, leadership, risk and strategy. Currently, I am doing leadership rotation, where I am a branch manager. My responsibilities include managing the floor in a branch, doing observations on staff, ensuring that branch operates smoothly, as well as looking into how branch performance could be improved.
I have learnt a lot about mortgages and insurance in my first placement. Now, I understand how those products work from a bank's and customer perspective. I learnt about how products are structured and priced and how the procedures are designed for them. I feel that I have learnt a lot!
I absolutely loved my first rotation! Things that I was working on really allowed me to develop, the team I was working in was great - everyone was always ready to help and support. It was great to have other grads around. It was a truly great experience, and I would recommend it to anyone
It is very well organised. We know from the start of the programme what kind of placements we are going to have for the next two years, we have dedicated hr team and lots of support information available online. We also have clearly set out objectives that we have to meet.
We receive lots of support from the employer. We have dedicated hr team, events for grads and regular drop in sessions. Dedicated hr team is also doing our one to one reviews alongside our placement managers. I know whom do I need to speak to if I ever have any issues.
There is lots of information available online to help us to complete assignments, we also have regular catch ups with our coaches. As well as that we have development days which help us to develop skills necessary in business. I find all support provided very helpful. I am on track to achieving my qualification.
I do not think it helps me to perform better in my role. A lot of material covered in qualification is common sense and is quite intuitive. The only thing I do find beneficial about this qualification are the development days that we have, find them quite useful and interesting.
we have a lot of different social activities and graduate related events. there we find out about our next placement and check in with other grads to see how their experience is. We also had a two week long induction in the beginning of the programme which helped a lot.
Yes
It is a fantastic company to work for, there is lots to learn, you are working alongside wonderful people, there are lots of great opportunities and you can build career for life. I do not have any negative experience with this company, only positive and would recommend it to anyone.
Make sure you are ready to move around the county. The scheme requires you to be nationally mobile and move every 6 months. It is not for everyone, but it rewarding to explore so many different cities in the country. See it as a great opportunity! I really enjoy it!
