We were taken through the businesses goals/objectives and what the company M&G does on a day to day basis. Also we were shown around their buildings to see what it would be like in the work environment. Numerous staff members presented presentations about their individual role in the company and some played some problem solving games too.
The skills mainly focuses around team working and sociable skills within the work place and how working together in an productive manner is not only beneficial for employees but customers too as they’ll receive their product quickly and in a high quality of service. Also these skills can be applied out with work in the world.
The day on a whole was very interesting as we found out a lot about the company which I didn’t already know. The day was very interactive for all as we played games and had discussions about different aspects of the company’s work and objectives which made the day enjoyable.
The event was well organised as there was a clear plan and timetable for the whole time we were there. This made is easier to see what we would be doing for the whole duration of the visit. There were also plenty of people to speak to of any issues arose.
I learned a lot about what it would be like to work there as in the tour of the building and we were able to look around the offices which staff use every day. Seeing this is good as if we wanted to work here we would know what to expect.
For me personally I already knew what path I want to take in the future. However, if it was the other way round and I was looking for opportunities this would jump out at me as it seems so beneficial and worthwhile not only in the short term but in the long run too.
No, this was a voluntary event and wasn’t necessary to be paid for. Although hospitality was provided which was appreciated by everyone. This was a day event to give a taste of the company and if a future there would be a possibility so it was worthwhile for everyone.
Yes definitely, there went plenty of employees in attendance at this event, each with a wealth of experience that they were able to transfer to us to inform us of future jobs and roles in not only m&g but In most jobs in general which was interesting to me.
Yes
This company is very modern in the way that they work and the offices are very relaxed for employees which helps them feel at ease when at work in order for them to work to the best they can as they will be comfortable going to work everyday and it won’t be a chore.
Be yourself when applying and be honest about who you are and what you can do but it’s not just your abilities that are looked at, your personality in general is taken into account too when they are looking at candidates so show yourself off and you will be successful
