I am a Compliance Apprentice and my daily task vary from inspection task to surveillance tasks. I am on a rotation therefore every team I work with looks at Compliance from every angle. At the moment I am in the Surveillance team so I use a programme called Sentinel which flags up failed rules from the trade fund manager puts in place.
I am completing the IOC and have passed my first exam so far. Also I am part of the Investment 2020 so I attend number of trainings with other apprentices. There are internal trainings which I attend if I think I will benefit.
I love the culture and the environment of M&G. I have never worked before so I cant compare but I am enjoying my work here. I am working with number of teams so its a pleasure to get to know everyone.
I feel highly valued at M&G. I have 3 managers who are at different seniority and I get feedback occasionally. After I complete a task I get an appreciation which is very encouraging.
My programme is 18 months and during the 18 months I am on a rotation. I got given a rotation plan with all the dates I move onto my next team and who the managers are. I am allowed to take at least 3 hours a week to study and my managers are very supportive of that.
My tutor is amazing, she helps me and guides in every way possible with constant appraisal. She is always open and willing to help.
The support I receive is exceptional, my managers and my HR manager are very supportive and always asking if I need any guidance, support or help. Aside from my managers, the people in my team are always happy to answer any questions or help.
I am able to support myself and cover living costs, travel costs etc. I do determine to save but never manage to.
There are number of gyms around work and with the corporate discount I regularly go to the gym. There are few company events such as summer party, Christmas party etc. I think it would be nice if there were company day out or team day outs.
Yes
M&G is a great company to work for, especially the culture at M&G. to prove how great the culture is how long some employers have been at M&G.
The application process is quite typical such as tests, video interview and 2 face to face interview. I know face to face interviews can be daunting but use it as an opportunity to show them who you are and what you are capable of.
