I am a Home Delivery Driver who delivers shopping to various customers in and around my store region.
I have been taught various new skills. These revolve around driving. The main areas are the new rules and regulations for a commercial driver. I have also been taught ECO driving techniques which have helped me reduce costs and wear and tear.
I have really enjoyed the course. The assessor sessions have been really good along with the maths and English. I was concerned about the maths and English sessions but as soon as I got involved more and felt more relaxed then I was not so much concerned.
The sessions that I have to attend are all planned well in advance and I also receive letters and messages from all assessors informing me of my visits. The plan was issued at the beginning which helped me understand the course from the start.
They have been really helpful as Impact also inform the store of all sessions. My manager simply plans me out for the time required.
They have been 100% supportive. Any issues I simply just have to call them and it will be sorted.
It has most certainly helped me with the legal aspects of driving and also the practical side with the Eco driving skills. I have no other qualifications and after this award I have Maths and English which I have never had before.
I tend not to go out with the work activities but we have Christmas parties and normal evenings out.

Basically it is a job, the pay is not that bad and they are a pretty good company to work for.
Be prepared to work hard. Be flexible in your work and simply have a good time and dont get stressed.
