School Leaver Review

I work as a Test analyst doing defect management, reporting and project management. This involves interactions with colleagues of all grades, clients and 3rd parties. Daily tasks are dependent on the project. At my previous project tasks included creating reporting metrics, defect management and work stream co-ordination.

I have passed 4 modules of the ISEB foundation with the rest of the exams due this year. Informally, I have learnt how to present myself, business writing and team management.

So far I have the found the work exceedingly interesting. The flat management hierarchy of the company appeals to me and so far it has met or exceeded my expectations in most areas.

My immediate project managers have been very vocal in their appreciation of the work I've done. The size of our team has meant that I have had to be very involved in tasks and projects in order to help delivery. Internal and external recognition has been a bit more limited for us as individuals.

First year living in London was a huge struggle due to relocation costs, travel and increased living costs. Second year post pay-rise is easy.

You can get involved in anything you like. I have taken part in community days, mentoring and networking events over the past year. All of them were well organised and fun!
