I work for a care company that provides care in people's homes. On a day to day basis I answer phone calls and queries and transfer these to the relevant employee. I also shadow employees in their tasks and assist them with their workloads. I type documents which are used and implemented in the office by all employees. I am also responsible for the archiving for the company.
i have developed my communication skills through constantly answering the phones and dealing with queries. I have developed my ICT skills through the constant use of the computer. I have learnt how to run the rosta for the carers which is quite complex as we have over 100 care staff.
i am enjoying the program as i am constantly learning new things and the office involves me in day to day tasks.
The programme is well organised. I am given enough time to learn tasks within the office and complete all apprenticeship tasks as well.
My employer are very supportive in my progression, they have reviews with me to make sure that i am on track and give me all of the support i need.
My training provider supports me well when working towards my qualifications. I recieve speedy responses to any queries i have.
I feel that the tasks which i am asked to do for my qualification aid in the workplace, as it gives me the background knowledge i need to know for my day to day tasks.
No.
Yes
I feel i have received a lot of support from the company when needed.
i would advice somebody to research the care sector. as i had not worked in this environment before there were a lot of things that i did not know about when starting.
