I get involved with client work. Any questions that our clients have, we get involved in solving their problems. We also get involved in compliance work and audit work. For example completing the tax computation for a client and their tax accounting at their year end. I have also been involved in audit projects
I have developed my tax technical knowledge since joining PwC as I have learnt new vocabulary and we often have training sessions to develop our understanding of the current tax environment. I have also developed my communication skills as we actively get involved in working in teams and we also need to speak to clients and HMRC
I have really been enjoying my programme. I enjoy getting involved in different projects which help develop my skills and also I enjoy having to go into college and learn about the tax environment. The team I work in also contributes to my enjoyment of the programme, as everyone is approachable and friendly
The programme is very structured. We know our college days in advance and we know when we have our mocks and when our final exams our. We also have internal training which is structured to help us internally develop our tax knowledge, for example we have monthly team training sessions
I have received a lot of support from our employer. Everyone in the team is always willing to explain pieces of work that you are required to do and if you have any questions while completing the work, you can always ask someone to explain the work to you again.
We receive a good amount of support from our training provider. They provide us with resources which help us learn the content and we have a 6 week review call to see how we are getting on. We are also assigned a talent coach from the training provider who you can ask questions to
I feel that the qualification does have an impact on the job. What we learn in college improves our technical knowledge which might help us with a piece of work that we do. However it might not always help you with a piece of work, so internal training is also important
There are monthly socials in our team, which helps everyone get to know each other. We have also created a 5 a side football game which we try and do every two weeks, so there are a lot of social activities in which you can get involved with in our team
Yes
I feel it is a great workplace to gain qualifications and learn real world experience. Everyone in the team is friendly and willing to help you. There is also a good career path that you can take and you have a lot of opportunities to work with large clients and work with a range of different clients
i would recommend they do some research about the company as they can use this in their interviews, for example learn about the different lines of services that PwC provide. I would also recommend looking at the different jobs that you can do at PwC so you find the right one for you
