My role in Airbus is to drill, seal, bolt and paint. I have been working on track 2 & 4 depending on the shift. This involves drilling holes and tapering holes, sealing and painting a component which attaches to the track. I then use taper bolts and pan head heads.
I have learnt many new skills, before I came to Airbus I had never used a drill or rivet gun. It has definitely developed my confidence around tools and carrying out taks
I thoroughly enjoy my programme everyone is a laugh n easy to get on with. All the early careers are helpful and 100% support you
I think the NVQ work we carry out in the factory is very well organised but the college BTEC isn’t very well laid out in giving out assignments. As before Christmas we had one assignment and then after Christmas we were given 4 at once
Our employer always offers support either by phone or face to face meetings. My manager always holds monthly meetings to ensure there are no problems and we arent struggling
A lot of our work for our qualifications is independent work and we only receive support once handed the work in or we are struggling
The work we have to do for our qualification definitely helps us perform better in our role because it makes us step out our comfort zone and learn new skills
There are lots of education liasion events that I get involved in and Gen A hold many sporting events and guest speaker sessions
Yes
