I am currently in the Project Management team for Tooling and Calibration. I am responsible for coordinating and overseeing any projects that takes place. This involves regular communication with all involved, requesting quotations etc
I have particularly developed my technological skills by using different software. I have also improved my communication, presentation and teamwork skills.
I really enjoy my programme as I believe it is a good balance of practical and impractical learning. The ability to move around the business in different placements gives a good flavour of different roles.
I think that the organisation is good as we have set time frames for placements etc and assigned managers however the communication of moving dates could be better.
We have a lot support due to the assignment of an Early Careers manager. We also have the support from our line managers as well as the availability of extra training, counselling services etc
We receive a lot of support from the training provider as class sizes are small and we are also assigned to a mentor who can give us further advice.
I think it keeps me motivated and dedicated in the workplace. Also the assignments are related to the workplace so they help me learn more about the business and may help me in future placements.
Yes there are lots of extra curricular activities particularly sporting activities. Also there is a group called GenA which organises social events for the apprentices, interns and grads
Yes
I think that the programme is an amazing opportunity. The ability to gain a degree whilst learning on the job is invaluable and being paid gives the opportunity to learn other practical skills e.g money management. In my opinion it is the best way to learn.
I would advice others applying to Airbus to research into the company and understand the key values of the company. Team working and communication skills are really important.
