Currently I work with a team looking at machine connectivity on a large R &T project, we are given different assets that need connecting to the network as well as other assets. I am also delivering a project with an AGV delivery parts to the shop floor via the network
The knowledge i have developed since joining airbus has been has been huge, In particular towards networks and the way in which they are set up within a large company. To support this i have also developed skills in regards to agile project management through supporting Scrum meetings.
Every day I enjoy work. The opportunities and responsibility that i have been given is much more than i thought it would be. Weather it be the chance to go abroad or to work with state of the art robots i am never board!
As this is the first year that the digital apprenticeship has been ran at my particular site, there is some disjoint in the structure of the scheme. However the apprentice team have been working closely with us to improve the scheme and support us.
I am never short of support whilst working at airbus. The support network that is in place for apprentices is amazing. In particular the support that i have received from the team i work with and my placement manager has been above and beyond
The support provided is excellent. The fact that we are a small group mean that we get a lot of one on one time helping us all with our individual struggles.
For me personally the work that is completed at college relates less to work than would be ideal. However some aspects do over lap, for ,me personally in particular the network knowledge has been the most beneficial.
Yes, Airbus has a GenA group covering all of early careers. This groups organised social events as well as trips giving us a good social platform to meet other apprentices.
Yes
As stated prior the opportunities and support that i have received at airbus has been phenomenal and is something i struggle to believe that other companies could offer.Could not recommend them enough
Make sure that you understand the basics of the company, such as site locations, aircraft built and the way in which airbus is split into different divisions.
