I am currently on a placement working to design parts for the A321 NEO XLR (next generation Single Aisle) aircraft within the Wing Integration Team, who work with the wing side of the main landing gear bay, and I am designing parts to connect the Landing Gear to the Wing
CAD, Materials, Presentation, Stress, Excel, 3D printing, Composites
I really enjoy the programme, as it provides me with both academic and industrial experience as a full team member, and I get a wide range of experience in the various placements I get to work in
Very well organized, but not too structured, in that I get to drive my own development by choosing my own placements and training
Lots - we get monthly meetings with our training supervisors and business line managers as well as Union support if we need it
We have two training providers - City of Bristol College and UWE, both of whom give us as much support as they possibly can on all areas of our academic work
Very well, as an aeronautical engineering degree would have to have serious problems to not help when it comes to an aeronautical engineering role
Yes - we have a football league organized within the early careers teams (grads, interns and apprentices) and there are various other groups within Airbus who bring social experiences and networking)
Yes
Airbus are one of the top two aerospace companies in the world, and the apprenticeship programme gives me a wide range of experience and training
Bring across your love of engineering and/or aircraft, and even if you're placed on the reserve list, there's still a very good chance that you'll be heading to Filton in September
