I am currently an Airbus flight physics undergraduate engineering apprentice. Throughout the apprenticeship I will spend time in placements in some of the teams within the Flight Physics area of the company. I am currently in the Filton Wind Tunnel.
I have learnt so much from the people I work with. Essential this apprenticeship has helped to teach me fundamental engineering skillset that I can build upon over the rest of my apprenticeship and my career.
The program is very enjoyable. At Airbus there is a large cohort of apprentices who are all like minded to, so you will definitely make friends. The program its self has so much variety and constant challenges that you remain engaged and enjoy the work you are doing.
The program is very well organised and it has a structure that is logical and beneficial to the apprentice.
There is as much support as you could need. You will have an early careers manager and a manager for each of your individual placements. There is always someone to speak to if you have any issues.
The college gives a good level of support. There are people you can speak to regarding academic concerns.
The degree is very helpful it gives you an understanding of what the people around you in the workplace are doing. If you have zero engineering experience the NVQ would be useful.
There are many social events and activities as Airbus.
