I'm an Aerospace Engineering Apprentice - this involves me studying 2 days a week and working in the office 3 days a week.
Before I came to Airbus, I had no engineering experience. I continue to developed new skills everyday as I face new challenges.
I really enjoy this programme because I get a degree/study but I also get work experience.
The programme is structured well but sometimes there is miscommunication between the Uni and work.
We have lots of support from our managers. we have monthly meetings so they can see where we are with our developments. they are also available to message and they try to help as much as they can with any issues.
As we are at University, the level of support is different but we still receive enough.
My knowledge and understanding of engineering is developing and this is because of the studying I am doing but also the work experience.
Yes, there is lots to get involved with.
Yes
There are so many different opportunities within the company. Airbus encourages you to take every opportunity and they want you to be the best version of yourself.
In your CV's list the work experience and extra curriculum activities you have done. This shows your personality and Airbus want to higher the person rather than the grades. You don't need to know everything about planes, you will gain the knowledge of aerospace throughout the Apprenticeship.
