I am currently on a really quiet placement so have to occupy myself most of the day however my previous placement was really involved. I used to do S4 Approvals, the weekly soft report, used to attend meetings with senior people.
I have learned to be more vocal and confident in my own ability, if I don't agree with something or If I have no work to do then I will voice it whereas I never did that before.
The programme is a good one, getting to rotate around the business and experience different areas is great however the placements do need more quality checks surrounding them as some higher apprentices are inundated with work and others have nothing to do.
There are lots of different programmes in place and people to go to should you need any extra support.
20% of our working week is spent at college learning however it is up to each individual managers discretion to decide if you are allowed to do any college work in work time on the run up to an assessment, some people are allowed, some people aren't.
It gives us the theory around Project Management that is then more relatable in the working environment.
There are LOADS of stretch activities you can get involved with; I myself am involved with STEAM Club, the 1st years networking sessions, the ALL right project.
Yes
You wouldn't get the experience of rotating around the business like we do anywhere else and you get paid whilst getting your degree paid for too.
Its very competitive trying to get in but just keep applying.
