You talk to clients, learn new skills and processes every day of your training here at EY. They help and coach you to learn those new skills. You have a sense of culture when you work here that I have not experienced anywhere else before. You take on more and more responsibilities each day
This course is based on ACCA training which is provided by ICAEW. We go to college on a regular basis and do exams based on the knowledge we have learned during our weeks in college. We also go on internal training courses each year to stay on top of your knowledge.
While the work can be difficult, I enjoy challenging myself to find the correct answer. You always work in different teams but everyone is so friendly and lovely and always ready to help if you ever get stuck. This is something which I believe is vital for EY. I highly enjoy it
The induction is very well structured as you are not alone. You start with more than 20 people which all start at the same level as you, so everyone is in the same boat, some of which you end up going to college with! you have a HUGE support system which I cannot describe
You receive a LOT of support. you have an assigned buddy which is there to help you with everyday tasks. They tend to be someone that started the year before you and they tend to be on the same programme. Then you have an assigned councillor which helps you with feedback and general enquiries
College is always organised by EY. They make sure you have enough time to prepare for the upcoming exams. Each team will also support you due to the fact they know how hard some of them will be. You have an entire team dedicated to training and helping you with your exams
The qualifications earned help massively in your every day activities. There is strong correlation between the work you do and the information you get from your training provider. The work lets you help the knowledge better, it helps you put the theory into practice, which helps with passing the exmas
There is a social event at least once every quarter. It's a nice way of getting involved with everyone in the office and blowing off some steam. There is also recruitment events which you can help with. There is also professional networking events such as LCASS where you can meet people in the same industry as yourself
Yes
EY has helped me grow as a person. They support you with everything you do. When you start working in EY, they invest in you as a person, not as an another employee, they want the best for you. I think this is very important in EY's culture as they have multiple schemes to make sure you're okay!
While the application process, can be daunting as it is a long process, I believe it's worth it. I would say be yourself when applying, don't answer questions on the basis of "This is what EY would want to hear". Just be yourself. Be authentic and try your best
