  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • It involves audit work so i do tasks for my assigned senior on many different jobs each week. I get to work on lots of different clients from many different industries such as oil and gas or food production. I also get to work on increasingly complex audit work throughout my time.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Yes I think that the programme is well structured there is a clear timeline of what we are doing next and what progression you have. However I do think that we should be given more support with the exams such as more time to study for them not at work.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received lots of support during work activities however when doing the exams we do not received that much support. We often need more time off to study as the exams are very complex and we do not get the time off we have to use our holidays to study.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our training provider has not been very good i have dyslexia so am slow at processing meaning that i need to study longer for the exams i had to fight with them in order to get them to send me the books for our exams early so that i could start studying.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that it does help as you learn more about the actual accounting because sometimes you get how to audit the account but you don't understand what it actually is. But the training provider is not very helpful we have had lots of poor experiences at college with low quality tutors.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes you can be a part of lots of different activities. For example you could be a part of the social committee were you get to help to plan any social events for the office or you could join the football group they have going or help with recruitment events.

  • 9a. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would because you get big 4 experience and this is the only big 4 accountant in Hull. Also as you get a good qualification that you could use in the future in order to progress in your career.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • My main tips would be to look online and prepare really well for the online testing and for the interview. It would also be to be yourself and if you do not get in it is not right for you. Make sure you get across your strengths and weaknesses during the process.
