The work experience was very vital and effective. I have been able to use the skills and experience in my future career as the skills i have picked up have aided me in getting into an apprenticeship at Deloitte. The experience was based on what the day to day auditor at EY does and how they check the accuracy of a companies accounts.
I learnt new skills such as communication and also presenting skills. I was able to use my presentation skills in my future career as it has helped me to do a presentation to a senior employee at a job which i am applying to. I also had to speak infront of crowds which develop my character in a way which i was more confident and relaxed
The work experience was very enjoyable. I worked the normal hours as every other employee did but the days went by quick and i never felt like i had too many tasks to handle. The senior employees who supervised me were very helpful and also informative in the tasks which i was assigned, and played a major role in the enjoyment of the programme
All the employees which helped run the programme were very organised. Although they were not paid to or obliged to help, they volunteered to aid us and were very organised in preparing tasks and setting up Various meetings with us. They also communicated very effectively with us and ensured that we were notified with any changes that would occur during the programme
I learnt alot about the company culture of EY. Since it is apart of the Big 4, it is important to adapt and see the culture. I learnt that the company culture was very equal and everyone was treated with a high level of respect. The employees were always doing what they need to do and their was no procrastination within the employees
My work experience shaped my future greatly. After practical work, i decided i will get a high level accounting qualification and become an auditor , which i have been able to accomplish by obtaining an audit apprenticeship at Deloitte. EY is a great way to decide which path you would like to get into as they provide you with experience for many different sectors
EY paid me for the work experience. this is really beneficial in terms of your future career as it is paid experience meaning it is regarded as your previous work, not just a work placement/programme.
The programme provided me to network with a range of different people. This is really important as it has helped me to develop my network and meet new people
Yes
EY provides an excellent programme for students and it is really important that people take part in it. I have already referred many people ranging for work experience seekers to graduates looking for a job.
EY does not always look at your achievements. You need to ensure you have a strong character and are determined to get into it. If you have the correct mindset and determination, you will have a high chance of being A successful applicant
