Team building exercises, completing the CMI level qualification, one week of hand on experience in Audit in which I researched Audit and presented it back to my supervisor. I also got the chance to speak about apprenticeships . The classroom based settings is where we worked toward the qualification and we did a lot of presenting too.
I’ve learnt a lot of skills from the work experience. My communication skills in a business setting improved and the ability to summarise what point I want to make. Presenting to audiences also got better and my confidence improved. My team working skills also improved as there was multiple group projects
I enjoyed the work experience quite a lot as it was in an idea location (Birmingham) and the site was relaxed and calm. Everyone was calm and happy to help. I learnt a lot of skills and made new friends that I am still in contact with. It was an enjoyable time and very useful.
The work experience programme was organised very well. Everything was planned in terms of what we would be doing each hour. For example guest speakers coming in, doing written work for CMI in the afternoon and team building exercises were also planned very well. There was plenty of breaks to keep everyone refreshed
I learnt EY works around the client demand and everyone works as a big team and departments communicate and work well together. They also promote diversity and so everyone can fit in. The supervisors and the rest were all very friendly and happy to help when any of us had queries
It played a big role as I wasn’t sure whether to pick an apprenticeship or university. However I liked the work setting at the work experience programme, so I decided to go for an apprenticeships with university as a back up. The work experience helped a lot by showing the opportunities people have in the work place
Very well paid and reimbursed, no financial difficulties and the process was very smooth. The pay was get nervous and I appreciate it as did all the others that were on the programme with me. It was a very good use of our three weeks during the summer holidays as we learn a lot and got paid a lot
There were plenty of opportunities for networking when guest speakers came in. Also our mentors were also a very open and we could easily communicate with them. EY foundation also regularly sends us emails about chances to network that are available throughout the country and it is very useful to know about them.
Yes
It was a very useful experience and the atmosphere was very friendly. There is also plenty of Opportunities to improve your skills with extra training courses and chances to work your way up the ladder. New students/employees are very well looked after and have a buddy to keep them informed
I would suggest to be themselves and research EY thoroughly and their values which play a big role. I would also research the markets that they compete in and the type of services they offer. It is important to thoroughly prepare in order to feel ready and confident for interviews etc
