compelting CMI qualification while doing activities e.g. creating an app. Went to the Scottish parliment to see the First Minster questions was meant to go to Skyscanner but it fell through. Got to shadow one of the audit teams that were there. Got the chance to be in Glasgow for two days.
I learned what being in audit was like and got to develop my expertise in audit. Developed my skills in communication, time managment, planning and research. I was part of a group and had to create an app that would tackle food poverty and through that I was able to develop my research skills.
I did enjoy my work experince as it was fun and challeging. I got to meet a lot of different people that I would not normally meet. I also got to take part of different activities e.g. going to the Scottish Parliment. The pay was also really good for.
It was very organised and structured during my time there. There was only a slight hiccup during the time that I was there. It was a set time to come in and a set time to leave but sometime we got to leave early or later if finshed everything there.
I learned a lot about what EY does and what EY stands for and what their culture is. I learned that their culture there is welcoming and want to make sure that they are operating in a way that encourages diveristy, inculsion and equality. They also want to make everyone feel inculded
It helped with deciding what I wanted to do with my life in the near future. I want to work in a company that is smilliar to EY or work with EY. I plan to do something with accounting or finance mmainly in the finance sector of EY or consulting.
I was reimbirsed during my work experince for my bus fares from house to their office in Edinburgh. I also was reimbursed for my train tickets and bus tickets to Glasgow when I went. They also paid for my lunch every day that i was there for the first 2 weeks
At the start there was ice breakers for us to try and get to know each other. We always had networking events with some of the EY staff that came to see us. We had a networking lunch with people who could be our mentors or our hosts for the week
Yes
It was something that really helped think and plan about what i want to do when I grow older or in the near future. I was also able to improve on my communicating and my confidence . Also you get a mentor for 10 months which would help you with anything
That there is a telephone interview and it is not that bad but just be prepared for it. The application process is fairly simple and not that complicated. Also dress formal through the week expect for fridays. But don't wear joggers or sweats on Fridays because it is not allowed
