Ensuring financial statements are correct, so visiting the client, asking queries we have. Understanding what an account is mapped to and completing primary testing of accounts.
Yes. Lots of terminology you learn within industry, how to work with clients and adapt strategies to ensure the audit is completed efficiently and understanding how to test accounts.
I find it really enjoyable, as you feel part of a team and know you are having an impact upon an audit. Furthermore, you are never without work to complete.
It is pretty well structure. You obtain the best of both worlds with working in industry as well as study. However, it is unlikely you can leave at 5 to revise, so it is hard to fit in studies.
A lot. We have a designated buddy, counsellor. Furthermore, you have access to a helpline
You get provided excellent textbooks and the college time is intense and interesting. I have not used the online helpline so I am unsure how long it takes for a response
It gives you information on what accounting is and what debits and credits are. However as I sit my exams 9 months after starting such as assurance, I am not sure whether it would be beneficial to have a course before you join.
Every 3 months you have a social for your department, a Christmas quiz, a Christmas party. There are lots of extra activities and volunteering events.

Even though it is an intense and stressful programme, the outcome when you pass the exams and knowledge you have learnt within industry gives you an advantage for excelling in accounting.
Understand how much work and commitment you will need to complete. Be open to feedback and put 100% of effort into your work and studies and social opportunities. It will pay off.
