I am a nightshift team leader for a major shopping centre. Every night I manage the environment cleaning team, which deep cleans the centre and also manage the nightshift security team
My course through paragon skills has help me plan better my nightly work and manage the staff better. I have also started to set personal targets and goals in my own personal development plan
I really enjoyed the course. Learning the different theories and planning strategies which have been developed. I have took the best ones which fit my needs and continue to use them.
My Tudor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] was amazing, he helped and supported me through the whole course. He gave me the course structure and goals at the start which are set out very clear. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] then allocated me goals each month to complete work booklets and to gather information for my project.
My employer allowed me to put time aside at the start of my shift to allow me to read and complete my work booklets and project
100% [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] my Tudor is spot on. I was able to text, call or email him at any time as I work nightshift and as soon as he got my message he would respond asap. We had monthly one to one meetings where he came and visited the centre, this would be late at night due to me working nightshift which I respect his dedication and support. We also had phone meetings in between to make sure I was on track
The theories and management tools which I have learnt have help me greatly. I have chosen the some which I feel works well and benefits me and I continue to use them. I have also started to use a CPD which has help me plan and monitor my development which I can evidence
Work have team nights out which are good and have major events for the whole centre staff. Work encourages the staff to use their 2 free volunteering days, these can be used for charities or supporting the local community.
Yes
We have a good bunch of people who work here. We also get a fair wage for the work we do. Intu pays the staff which are on the lowest rates of pay above the NMW which shows that they appreciate the staff and want to keep them. The management is always happy to help the staff
Be a positive person and show a happy attitude. Intu like people who are willing to go the extra mile for the customers, to the point where you would help them with bags of shopping to the car, its things like this which shows world class service to our customers
