My role is Hotel Receptionist, this includes welcoming and dealing with guests on arrival, during their stay and departure, insuring I stick to Premier Inn brand standards and being compliant with finance, GDPR, Health & Saftey and Fire saftey as we lone work on our shifts. When the shift end we then do a handover to the next employee.
I have learned a lot more on day to day business while learning the different aspects of the course from business brand standards to knowing your customers wants, needs and expectations, which i the put into practice while I am on shift and discuss with my manager on several points on ways to improve.
Being able to freely complete the programme in my own time and not held back by a strict schedule, and the regular visits from my trainer is something i look forward too as I enjoy the conversations, which also helps with my conversations and speaking as that is I sometimes struggle with on a day to day basis.
Through the different programs from MyLife, BKSB and Lifetime Portal it is very easy to be able to traverse through the course and easy to understand sections to help guide you through, including the community aspects where everyone will freely speak up and help if you are stuck. Having only one trainer to speak too makes things a lot easier and able to be focused on a lot more.
having to learn a lot in my job role, I get a lot of support from my manager especially on a day to day basis as she like to check up and make sure i'm doing okay. With all the support I get from my tutor I know that if I am stuck then a quick message via their work phone or e-mail I know that they will respond fairly quickly.
I feel I receive a lot of support from my trainer, specially if i'm struggling they will go out of their way to find the exact material that I need to be able to complete what I need to do, and I know that nothing is too much and feels nice to have that kind of support.
Everything that I have learned so far I've been able to put into, opening my eyes regarding Brand Standards and looking how my company deals with their business and putting it into practice, and recently learning about customer profiles and how it effects our business and putting what I learnt into practice.
There is a social event that happens every year through PI&R but it is something I've not attended as of yet as it is only a select few per business that can attend, my company also does training courses throughout the company that helps with progression or qualification courses like First Aid for example.
Yes
It is a great company to work for with many opportunities and benefits with the company that also stay ahead of the times, it is a company that i am proud to work for and want others to feel the same and look to inviting more people to try out our company.
The application process is rather straight forward, during interviews you just be yourself and enjoy the moment and if it something you want the progress in then Whitbread is perfect as their is no limitations and they will help train you in what every job role you go for. The company will also help should you ever want to transfer into a different department within Whitbread.
