At the end of year 12 during the Summer, I took part in the EY smart futures programme for 2 weeks. The first week consisted of working towards a Level 2 CMI qualificaton where we worked through a booklet. During the second week I worked with the indirect tax team and learnt about what the job consisted of. This internship gave me so many new skills and gave me the chance to have a taste of the working world.
I learnt how to work as part of a team and work together to overcome differences in opinion within the group. Also whilst working towards the CMI level 2 qualification I managed to gain positive leadership skills which will help me in the future if I choose to take a leadership role.
Yes
it is a good experience which is unique and helps you grow as a person. The experience helps you develop key skills which are important to have in the work place. The programme made me a more confidence person than i was before i started the programme and i would recommend it to everyone
-Be open to communicating and working with people from different backgrounds -Make sure you keep a notepad and pen handy so that you can jot down interesting things you come across -Don't be afraid to ask for help if you are stuck with a task or a job you've been given
