I have also learnt the process of gemba'ing and the different audit levels used around site and how they contribute to the continuous improvements cycle.
I enjoy the programme a lot so far. I am able to meet different people around site and gain valuable information and experience from them. I am also able to shadow different employees to understand the workings of the company on different levels.
the organisation of the programme is flexible to suit my learning needs and preferences and I am able to adapt my working schedule/ rotations to align to that of my college assignments and projects.
I receive an adequate amount of support from my employer and am able to seek additional support when I may feel I need it. However I like to try to be quite independent and this is possible
I receive a decent amount of support from the college, although not as much as I did before my college tutor changed.
I find that the qualification is great at giving me the basic knowledge to build upon and implement in my daily routine. I am currently on a Level 3 NVQ but will be developing to a Level 5 after this qualification which will build on the basics I am gaining now.
There are many extras via the apprenticeship scheme. I am a STEM ambassador, undertaking my Silver Award in the Duke of Edinburgh Programme supported through work with the other apprentices. I am able to join societies, have social events with the apprentices and embark on outwards bounds and resilience trips.
