  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Considering this is my first job working in an office environment, it has been great. The team are supportive and treat me as a member of staff and not as an 'apprentice'. The company culture is all about personal development, no matter what level. Regular 1:1's with your line manager, life coach options, extra online training and workshops outside of work. My Apprenticeship at University of Oxford is more than I ever expected. I enjoy every day of it. Yes times can be challenging, when there's deadlines to be met during busy working hours. But it's part of the journey.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme at University of Oxford is well organised. However, the structure/organisation for my training provider - Firebrand, not so much. The induction began badly, providing the wrong link to join the meeting, which led to me calling three different departments who all didn't know anything. To eventually recieve an email with a link to the meeting asking why I was late.. I have had number of issues with the admin side of Firebrand: never recieving emails on exam dates, project deadlines, timetables of my onsite residential stay. Although the training side of Firebrand is actually really good. It's a shame that the admin/comms side of the training is poor and lets it down.

  • 9a. Would you recommend University of Oxford to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Not only does it provide experience and qualifications at an Oxford Living wage salary. The extra support on personal development, training, workshop and networking with other apprentices. Open so many doors.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to University of Oxford?
  • Don't let the brand of University of Oxford doubt you from applying for a role. The apprenticeship acknowledges hard work, determination and motivation to learn, instead of basing you on your grades.
